NB Commentary: What we are seeing is the manifestation of our collective consciousness. What we are seeing is our own indiscretions, greed, inordinate gratuitousness, lack of reflection and egoic distortion.
Israel is there because we are here, and we have been here for a very, very long time. Long enough for the pimple to turn into cancer.
We had an opportunity to forestall the collapse of human consciousness many moons ago but we continually placed in power liars, deceivers and destroyers. We allowed ourselves to believe that they were working on our behalf. We accepted their promises as paid in full. We got what they told us was a “better life” when in fact our lives are built on the destruction of the lives of others. We did not pay attention to the sweatshops, the extinction of the animal kingdom as we build our giant castles in the sky. We did not stop the raping of the rain forests or the annihilation of the inhabitants who lived there. We wanted that house on the hill, with sprawling lawns cut precisely just right. We wanted our fast cars and exotic choices of edibles. We want more and more and more and our leaders promised that.
Now we are stuck.
The global war machine promises us even more through its plundering of our environment for more and more to fill our coffers.
We point fingers at our leaders asking why won't you stop this genocide? They know full well, quiet as it's kept, that we are all a party to it based on how the raping of the resources of the world, that are being guarded by the other, maintain "our" way of life. How many of us are conscientious enough to stop the killing train to the point where we are willing to give up our coveted modern conveniences. They know that we are addicted to modern convenience and so they continue to rape, pillage, steal, kill to keep us nestled in the comfort of our plush existence.
They know that we are indelibly attached to our "stuff" much of which is non-biodegradable but we have to have it.
They know that we are just as covetest of their status in life. They know we want the full banquet that they shamelessly displayed while the Gazans starve. They know we want the convenience of Starbucks, fancy restaurants, hotels and transportation via jets that pollute our skies.
They know that we are spoiled brats, used to having more than we need and unwilling to give that up.
So, we may protest, we may shout and scream, we may go full throttle with our outrage at the Predator class, the Empire Managers, but deep inside they know that we are not willing to make the major changes that would take the wind out of their sails. They know that after we protest, kick and scream, we will go home and continue to support the war machine we claim to abhor by engaging in all the resources the war machine pillaged to provide for us.
So, what is happening in Gaza, as well as in other parts of the world, where people are in the way of the resources needed to sustain our Western Industrial existence, is showing our own underbelly, our own complicity, however tacit, our own unwillingness to really change our "way of life". The Western World Leaders won't pull the plug on Netanyahu because that would mean the fall of Western civilization. A civilization built on the backs and struggles of the "other". A civilization that reaps more than it could ever need, while the other has less than nothing.
So, yeah, Netanyahu is evil, demonic and a cancer on the face of humanity, but he is also who we are, our needs, our ego, our lust and our own impunity. The cancer we see in him is the cancer that has infected the collective consciousness of the Western World.
If he were taken out today, the problem would not be solved. If the genocide stopped today, the problem would not be solved. Netanyahu is only a symptom of a much deeper problem that has been insidiously poisoning the Western World.
