Just like Iraq's 'imminent WMD threat' that never existed. The same lies, the same warmongering playbook, the same tired bullshit. When will we learn?
Good question, you would think that since it didn't work the last time, why would they think it would work this time? We'd have to get into the head of these Psychopaths to figure that out. One thing that I think is really important and that is the masses. The masses seem to be able to be duped, just long enough for their agenda to take hold. And then when the novelty begins to wear off, they give the masses a pacifier = Obama to cool the storm and gain their support again. Then once they gain the support of the masses the gloves come off and they go right back to the agenda. Wash, Rinse, recycle.
So to me it's not them, but us. Why do we not learn that we are being played by silver tongued so-called saviors who deceive us over and over again. When do WE learn is the deeper question in my view.
The anti-war movement of the 60's, the anti-war movement of lead ostensibly by Code Pink, ended up with an office in downtown DC during the Obama administration. And guess where Media Benjamin is now, in the halls of congress screaming "Free Palestine!" So you see, it's really us, the masses, we are the ones who really need to get a grip.

Conclusion: While I am a bit skeptical of Mehdi Hasan’s other prognostications, in this case, I couldn't agree with him more with respect to his position on how Iran is incentivized to get a nuclear bomb. The thing is, the world has become dependent on enriched Uranium for a variety of reasons. The fact that enriching Uranium can eventually lead to a weapon is disconcerting and dangerous, yet it's the way of the world, especially if the countries who do have them are not threatened by Western Hegemony and Israel. It's a Catch 22 scenario.
