The Hypocrisy Of Who Can Take Revenge And The Death Penalty
They Call Palestinians Terrorists When They Seek Revenge for the Slaughter of Their Loved Ones
In 1948, a group of foreigners cut out a piece of foreign land and mandated it to another group of foreigners under the guise that an Ancient Torahic/Talmudic edict proclaimed that this group of foreigners were God’s Chosen People who deserved a land that over 2,000 years ago had been abandoned by them. This group of foreigners arrived as settlers on this land and found that there were other people there, including others, of the same religious persuasion, who had cohabitated for centuries with other groups of people of other religious persuasions. These settlers proclaimed that the land should now be called Israel when heretofore it had been called Palestine.
Over the ensuing years, strong tensions between these “settlers” and the indigenous grew to the point of a series of wars, incursions, expansion and displacements.
This snapshot is not the point of this post. The point of this post is to discuss the hypocrisy of who is allowed to resist being subdued by invaders and who is allowed to defend themselves from attack.
It is June, 2025. Over the years since 1948 we have seen resistance groups rise up out of the ashes, one of which is called Hamas. While there are several other resistance groups, this group is the most prominent group, and was elected into power in January, 2006 with 40% of the vote despite it being designated by the Clinton Administration in 1995, as a terrorist organization.

I am not here to defend either side. Nor am I here to promote revenge. What I want to present is the blatant hypocrisy. A hypocrisy that says one group has the right to defend itself and the other group does not have the right to do the same. One group has the right to seek unequivocal revenge and the other group does not. One group has the right to openly demand the extinction of the other group, while the other group has no right to say the same. One group is backed by what is considered the “civilized” world and the other group is called barbaric. One group is armed with ballistic missiles, drones, white phosphorous and nuclear power while the other group is armed with stones, sticks, and make shift rockets. One group is allowed to import weapons from all over the world, along with billions of dollars, while the other groups’ supporters are demonized, threatened, sanctioned and considered terrorists themselves for affiliating with them.
In the so-called “civilized” world when crimes are committed, particularly homicide, destruction of property, theft of property, physical or sexual abuse, there are penal systems that adjudicate and meet out punishments. Sometimes these punishments may lead to the death penalty, as a part of an act of justice for such crimes. Righteous indignation is shouted out by those who are harmed by these crimes and they seek unmitigated justice. Yet, when it comes to a certain group, they are not allowed to cry out, they are not allowed to seek justice, they are not allowed to take justice into their own hands and they certainly are not allowed to take any type of revenge against the other group who committed the above mentioned crimes against them. Instead, they are designated as “terrorists” who simply do not want the other group to exist. They are not allowed to have any semblance of righteous indignation.
In the so-called “civilized” world, a human being is allowed to defend him/herself from any harm that may come to them, their family or their property. But it seems that this is only allowed for “select” group who have been “chosen” to do whatever they wish to the other group with impunity. If anyone should question this “select” group’s right to exist or defend itself, that person will be demonized, censored, sanctioned and considered a supporter of terrorists.
In the so-called “civilized” world, particularly here in the USA, the person who murdered another person, is seated in a chair that will fry their brains, while the offended party watches on. The offended party demands that a life be taken for another life no matter who the “taker” may be. Even though the taking of another life does not bring back the one who was murdered, there is still a sense of satisfaction that is incurred as they hear the verdict, “death penalty” given by the jury. No one questions their satisfaction or feelings of being avenged by the person who murdered their loved one.
Yet, today, June, 2025, that same reaction is not allowed to a certain group of people who have experienced a catastrophic oppression not by a single assailant, but by a group of military men, reservists and settlers of a certain other group.
Hardly anyone, that could make a difference in this imbalance of justice, speaks out against this. Instead, they give their undying support to a certain group while denying even the meekest of resistance from the other group. The supporters of this imbalance would certainly feel vindicated if someone who murdered their loved one, got life in prison or the death penalty. It is not beyond comprehension that they would indeed feel that justice had been served when the murderer was sentenced to death. Yet, somehow, these same people watch the destruction of families, homes, livelihoods, medical & educational facilities, censorship of supporters of the other group, and none of them speak about the injustice or of having the empathetic understanding of why the other group would think of or even want to seek revenge. Instead these people label them as radicals and terrorists.
The systemic destruction of one group by another would certainly bring about some semblance of resistance. In fact, it would only serve to embolden even the weakest among the “oppressed” group to carry in their hearts and minds a deep disdain for those who are perpetrators of this destruction. It does not matter how many members of the “select” group proclaim that the other group are “human” animals. Even a dog will bark or bite if it is being assaulted.
It appears that the “select” group has used the strategy of constant turmoil, fear and trepidation in order to create a self-fulfilling prophesy. By using this strategy, this “select” group can feel justified in their anger against the other group. They can claim victimhood as they seek justice and vengeance for any aggression towards them by the other group, when in reality they have been the overwhelming aggressor. Meanwhile, the “other” group has no justifiable right to resist, seek justice or revenge for any crimes committed against them. They are expected to remain silent and quietly leave the area because it is now unlivable.

QUESTION: WHY WOULD THE FOREIGN SETTLERS FIND THE NEED TO SUPPORT HAMAS AND/OR ANY OTHER RESISTANCE GROUPS?
