I think that one of the biggest problems that humanity has is shifting the weight of responsibility, good or bad, over to someone else. I am assuming that Hamas and its leaders had choice. They chose to accept funding from Israel. If we deny this then we are taking agency away from them and placing it in the hands of Israel. We are in fact, bolstering Israel's arrogance that they can "buy" or "make" folks to do their bidding. If that is the case, and I don't know for sure, then Hamas is really a weak handmaiden of Israel.
